serving NASHVILLE AND SURROUNDING AREAS

hey!

if we've never met ...

I'm tina-marie! I'm a birth doula just like you!

I'm a birth doula - first generation born here with deep roots in Mexico and Honduras! I am so passionate about the Rebozo!

This course was birthed from a place deep within my soul - rooted in heritage, woven with tradition, and carried forward with reverence.

This class was birthed from a place deep within my soul. For many generations, the woven fabric of the rebozo has carried with it a rich culture of life and death. They represent both strength and softness, tradition and transformation. From wedding ceremonies to funerals, it represents the history of Mexican women weavers and the knowledge that was passed from woman to woman: midwife to apprentice, mother to daughter. These cloths made by hand and with love have continued to be a part of the culture.

As a Mexican I am thrilled the rebozo has gained such popularity in Western Culture and has become a vital item in birth-workers' bags! However, birth workers and parents alike are missing historical and spiritual aspects of rebozo work, and this course provides an updated view of modern birth work with it. I’m honored to share the rebozo’s story — not just as a practical tool for comfort in labor, but as a living tradition full of cultural and spiritual meaning. In my teaching, I guide doulas and birth workers to use the rebozo with respect, understanding its roots while applying it in modern practice.

Through Your Birth Story, I serve both families and professionals. For families, I offer birth photography and doula care — supporting you with presence and documenting the sacred moments of your becoming. For doulas, I offer rebozo workshops and mentorship, passing on traditions that deserve to be honored and protected.

Birth is never just one story. It’s cultural, personal, ancient, and brand new. And I’m here to help you honor yours — with reverence, truth, and love.

People often use the rebozo without understanding its cultural background and traditional uses. I come from a long line of Mexican women who have used it in their everyday life and it’s something I’m so excited and passionate to share.
