Hi y’all! My name is Tina-Marie and I’m the face behind BHB. Named for Frida Kahlo's famous blue house, (Frida - being the ultimate picture of Mexican culture and beauty - is always is seen wearing a rebozo), Blue House was birthed from a place deep within my soul. For many generations, the woven fabric of the rebozo has carried with it a rich culture of life and death. From wedding ceremonies to funerals, it represents the history of Mexican women weavers and the knowledge that was passed from woman to woman: midwife to apprentice, mother to daughter. These cloths made by hand and with love have continued to be a part of the culture.
As a Mexican I am thrilled the rebozo has gained such popularity in Western Culture and has become a vital item in birth-workers' bags! However, birth workers and parents alike are missing historical and spiritual aspects of rebozo work, and this course provides an updated view of modern birth work with it.
People often use the rebozo without understanding its cultural background and traditional uses. I come from a long line of Mexican women who have used it in their everyday life and it’s something I’m so excited and passionate to share.
In addition to teaching birth professionals about the rebozo, I'm also passionate about bringing their branding visions to like with branding photo sessions. Ive been a photographer for over several years and now specialize in birth photography & birth brand sessions!
I AM SO EXCITED TO CONNECT WITH YOU AND journey with you through YOUR birth story
